Macro Monday, That's My World Tuesday / Desert Hummingbirds

I photographed these little hummingbirds at Indian Canyons, Palm Springs yesterday.  There are several canyons in this area and we actually visited Palm Canyon.  My husband and I went on a hike and were delighted to see several dozen hummingbirds hovering around bird feeders at the trail head there.

What pretty birds they are - like little flying jewels! You got some great pictures!

I've never seen one, despite visiting states where they are quite common. One day, perhaps!

This is awesome! What patience that must have taken. I don't think I could get so many great shots of hummingbirds in one day. Look at those colors!

What great shots, Carolyn!

To answer you question: There's no snow in the photo of orange lines because it was taken last week just south of Grimsby, which is on the west end of Lake Ontario (on the south side) and is in a milder climate than most of the rest of Ontario. There's LOTS of snow where I live. :)

Excellent series. My wife has a hummingbird feeder hanging outside our kitchen window in summer. She would love these photos.

What marvelous photos! I have hummingbirds hanging around my citrus trees, but catching them in action is really challenging!

Hummingbirds are difficult birds to photograph; you did well!

They are so pretty, what a beautifully colored plumage they have.
This is a great series of photos, so many different positions.

Those little stinkers are so fast, I can never get a good shot!

Many years ago, I was in that same spot and had a blast just taking pictures of the birds... Never saw so many and in different colors in my life. thank for reminding me of that day

Hummingbirds are so difficult to capture, you did a wonderful job of making it look easy! Nicely done.

That 7th shot is great! Love the lone bird and the way the light makes his feathers effervescent.

Very good captures of these amazing little birds. I'll have to wait until summer at the canyon to see them myself.

These are wonderful hummer shots. I'm envious. I never have much luck with hummingbird photographs. I've taken a few that sort of worked but none close to as good these and it will be spring before they return. I enjoyed seeing yours so much.
