Santa Fe, New Mexico is full of color, color and more color...even the drainage pipes look kinda pretty!

Weekend Reflections / Chrome Chicks in Santa Fe, New Mexico USA

I recently fell in love with these chrome chicks at an outdoor sculpture gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico USA.

Their entire bodies picked up reflections from all angles.

There were 6 or 8 of them scattered around the outside of the gallery...just like a barn-yard!
I really wanted to take one home with me.

SkyWatch Friday & Looking at the Sky on Friday - Lamp Post Standing on Sandia Peak, Albuquerque, New Mexico USA

This lamp stands on Sandia Peak over Albuquerque, New Mexico during the "blue" hour following sunset.
Sandia Peak is 10,378 feet in elevation that affords a magnificent view of the city and valley below, both day and night.
We were enjoying the night view as we waited for the tram (or) gondola to return to the top of the mountain to carry us back down.
I couldn't take my eyes off this lamp...

ABC Wednesday / "O"

I am loving the lens flare that the open window of this pueblo style building created.
I am so glad I was outside and not inside at this moment in time!
Painted Desert, Arizona USA

The theme is O this week.

Scenic Sunday

That's My World Tuesday, Watery Wednesday, Mid Week Blues, Outdoor Wednesday / Hot Creek, Mammoth, California USA

This is Hot Creek just south of Mammoth Village in the eastern Sierras of California USA.
The creek runs for many miles and alternates from cool water to scalding hot.
People used to enjoy sitting in the hot water (including myself) but, due to increased geothermal activity, entering the creek is not allowed, hopefully temporarily.

Weekend Reflections / Sharing Reflections - Mamie Lake and Lake George, Eastern Sierras, California USA

This is Mamie Lake which is very close to Mammoth Village in the eastern Sierras of California.
This gorgeous little lake is nearly at the 9,000 ft. level.
We enjoyed the string of lakes around Mammoth last weekend.
The sky was over-cast due to a rainy night and then it rained throughout the day.

This is Lake George which sits just beside Mamie Lake.
Notice the reflection is nearly the same in both photos...
Lake George is the same elevation as Mamie Lake, nearly 9,000 feet.

Thank you James for hosting this meme!

SkyWatch Friday & Looking at the Sky on Friday - McGee Creek and the Beaver Pond, Eastern Sierras, California USA

My husband and I hiked this trail back to a beaver pond that replaced a meadow several years ago.
This is the McGee Creek trail that is quite extensive connecting to other trails in the John Muir Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada Range in California USA.

After 3.5 miles up an uphill climb we finally reached the beaver pond.
I have seen beaver dams before but this one was HUGE!
We didn't see any beavers, though.

They had a great lodge!
It was about 3 p.m. and a storm was brewing over the peaks.
It got windy and colder as the afternoon faded.
It was downhill all the way out so we weren't concerned about it taking us too long to get back to the trail head.

The natural fall colors for the Eastern Sierras is yellow!
The aspens are "aglow" right now.

These photos were taken at Silver Lake on the June Lake Loop in the Eastern Sierras, California USA.

I'd love to see the images this guy is getting!

The theme is "N" this week.

My husband and I just returned from a four day trip to the Eastern Sierras in California.
This is Lee Vining Creek all decked out in beautiful fall color.
This photo was taken yesterday, October 17, in the rain and it was COLD at about 7,000 feet...loved it!

ABC Wednesday, Outdoor Wednesday / Albuquerque International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010, Albuquerque, New Mexico USA

For one reason or another, I have missed my ABC Wednesday posts for several weeks.
This post will include the letters J, K, L and M for this week.
My husband and I took a road trip across Arizona and into New Mexico to attend the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival.
There will be a lot of balloons in this post!

A very cute balloon from Japan came all the way to Albuquerque, New Mexico USA.

With about 700 balloons at Balloon Fiesta Park, they were jammed together while waiting to become air-borne.

There were so many kinds of color combinations and shapes.

All kinds of balloons...

and, all kinds of people!

It was such fun having these balloons launch right over our heads!

SO many balloons and SO many people!

The early morning light was fabulous!

 Balloons and more balloons!

My husband is on the left enjoying the sky filled with colorful balloons.
Notice the people are looking in all directions, and still, they are not all launched!

ABC Wednesday
The theme is the letter M for this week.
I have also included J, K, and L.
