We were so lucky to arrive in Key West during this historical time. The Vandenberg was sunk 7 miles off of Key West to become an artificial reef. We saw her the day before she was towed out to the site of her fate. It was a bitter-sweet moment.
We visited during the daylight hours and then returned just after sunset to bid her a final farewell...
