Net Fishing in Cairns, Queensland, Australia

We were out walking in the early morning when we came upon this man net fishing along the Esplanade in Cairns, Queensland, Australia.

He tossed his net over and over...and, nothing!

We moved on and came upon this man.
He wasn't taking any chances with his cooler!

Maybe they didn't see the warning signs?

A Breezy Walk on the Cape - Kangaroo Island, SA, Australia

A very breezy walk on Cape de Couedic...
Flinders Chase National Park, Kangaroo Island, SA, Australia

 the walk affords magnificent views...

of the Cape de Couedic Light House

the Indian Ocean and rugged coastline...

and, finally...Admiral's Arch.
A colony of New Zealand Fur Seals live in the waters here.
If you look very closely you can see a few on the rocks.

Pure Island Sheep Dairy, Kangaroo Island, SA, Australia

The Australian Sheep Dog on Wheels!
We visited a sheep dairy and saw sheep being milked and tasted yogurt and cheese made from sheep milk.
But...this scene really caught my attention!

Kingscote, Kangaroo Island, SA, Australia

These photos were taken at Kingscote on Kangaroo Island, SA, Australia...
a bucket of fish = feathered friends

 Same man, Same bird
He had many feathered friends because he brings them a bucket of fish each day...why?  I don't know as the sea is full of fish.

Kangaroo Island, SA, Australia

A part of the coast line at Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island, SA, Australia.  The red was totally awesome!

My husband finds a great way to get up close and personal to these amazing red rocks!

This photo was taken when it was getting dark...a bit challenging without lighting!
The walk-way leads to a bluff area where the 'little penguins' come ashore after dark.
They have nests on the bluff where their young patiently wait to be fed!
Unfortunately, we didn't see them on this particular evening but we did enjoy seeing several wallabies hopping around nearby...what a treat!

...another very low light image of the very red rocks at Penneshaw.

The next morning we left for the southeastern end of the island.
This is "Remarkable Rocks" located within the Flinders Chase National Park.
What amazing color and views of the Indian Ocean!

These two guys were enjoying the view!

My husband, Jerry, and I also loved the view!

Farewell to a fabulously scenic place!

You can see the dome shaped formation where the "Remarkable Rocks" are located...just beyond the far end of the beach.
We spent several hours in this area and loved every minute of that precious time!
Kangaroo Island is a GEM of a place!

Tasmanian Devil - Tasmania, Australia

This Tasmanian Devil IS being a d.e.v.i.l. !!!

They have very poor eye-sight but a keen sense of smell.

This one is on a Tasmanian Preserve for orphaned marsupials.
The Tasmanian Devil is a marsupial.
I think I learned something new everyday while on this trip!

They have no trouble crunching bone...or boots!

Puffing Billy - Dandenong Range, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

We were on this train with the rest of the tourists in Australia!
It was so much fun sitting in the window with our legs hanging out...like the rest of the tourists in Australia.
This is the oldest operating steam train in Australia.
"Puffing Billy"
We went for a nice long ride through the rain forest of the Dandenong Range west of Melbourne.
People would come out in various places to take photos of the train as it passed by.
