The "Rocket Boat" speeds past Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay.
This boat isn't for me but I sure liked watching it!
Alcatraz is 1.5 miles from the Wharf area of San Francisco.
It has been a light house, a military prison and a penitentiary over the years.
Now, it's a great tourist attraction.
...and, of course a trip to San Francisco is incomplete without a bridge!
I can't believe I didn't get a shot of the Golden Gate!
Sinful, to say the least!
This is the Oakland Bay Bridge as we drove into the city from the east side of the bay.
It was a girls' road trip...such fun!
Thank you, Candi and Sally!
You 2 ROCK!

Wonderful photos, I love the bridge shot.
Beautiful shots and it sounds like you had a great time! I also love your photos for Watery Wednesday and Weekend Reflections. Lol you think you are sinful? I lived in the Bay Area for over four years and I don't have any picture of the Golden Gate Bridge or any other landmark. :(
Hopefully this comment works because I've been getting a 503 error the last few days.
Wow, love all the photos! Hope you can visit me back!
Beautiful pictures...love the boat and the bridge!
I love those blues!
Happy Blue Monday, Carolyn.
I saw the movie Alcatraz I was very young then. I didn't know the place really existed. Nice shot!
The Barn
You may have missed the Golden Gate but you gave us a great view of the Bay Bridge.
the bay bridge is equally photogenic.
Many years ago, I visited this city. We made a lot of different points of interest, but never made to Alcatraz
Excellent shots. I love San Francisco, I could happily live there if I could afford it.
Looks like you had a terrific trip! I love SF and Alcatraz is a spooky, but fascinating place! Your bridge shot is superb! All of your photos are wonderful as always, Carolyn! Hope your week is off to a great start!

I really like your shot of the bridge...a great perspective. When I look at photos of it from a distance, I do not get the feeling that this shot presents. Just seeing the picture of the aging Alcatraz makes me s bit squirmy. It is a scary place.
I always love bridge photos, yours is gorgeous!
Please drop by at my BLUE, when you have time. Thanks!
Wow! These photos remind me of my trip to San Fransico. I really enjoyed Alcatraz Lunch Cruise. Seems you also enjoyed San Francisco with you friends.
A girls' road trip. It's been a long time, but I remember being in San Francisco on a girls' road trip in early 1989. It is a lot of fun, isn't it?
Great shot of the rocket boat passing Alcatraz.
I've never had any desire to visit Alcatraz, however, but there WAS a movie with Sean Connery ...of course, anything with Sean Connery is wonderful. LOL

Intriguing photos! Really loved the splendid view of Alcatraz!
I'm sure you had an enjoyable day!
I do love the photo of Alcatraz Island which sounds familiar to me because of that popular movie.
Husband and I visited San Francisco
