The 7th stage of the Tour of California Cycling Race started in our local area (Claremont, California).
...nor this guy!
I tried some panning shots with a slow shutter speed for extra effect!
READY, SET, GO!!!
It was an amazing rush to see the start!
They sped by SO quickly!
I wanted to get back to my car and dash to another location where they would pass, but, it is impossible because of the huge crowds lining the streets.
You pick one spot and that is all you get.
It's over in a flash!

Wow! You can almost feel the energy! Terrific captures, Carolyn, as always! Hope your week is off to a great start! Enjoy!

Great action shots from the race.
These are wonderfully animated perspectives of the race. It’s a challenge to catch the mood, especially when you have to be as speedy with a camera as the racers need to be on their bicycles. The last photo draws you nicely into the fray. :)
Great shots! Love the blur on a bike!
Great shots from the race, I watched one of the Tour of Britain stages last year and really enjoyed all the fun and energy.
What a joy to see. Miss riding a bike for now already years. Thank you for the memories.
Please have a good Tuesday.

I know what you mean... setting in sports mode helps to a certain extent. Great coverage of the event.
I'm trying to imagine myself in the midst of that bicycling pack--and it's making me dizzy!
A SPLASH OF RED
A splash of red or a dash of blue—
Which is the color that’s just for you?
A hint of blue or a tint of red—
Which of these colors goes to your head?
Of all the colors under the sun,
Red is simply my favorite one!

Very colourful, Carolyn. Liked your panning shots (I haven't had much practice, or success).
Great photos. I love the blur of colour.
Taking pictures of a race is challenging for catching up with the speed and conveying the tense and energy of the race, but you captured them so well. So, are you still experimenting the effect of lower shutter speed? The second photo is interesting, though I’d think something wrong with my eyesight without knowing the reason. Have a nice week.
Excellent work. You have captured the excitement and motion of the event. Very nicely done. Happy RT.
These are truly GREAT action photos!!!
BIRD'S EYE VIEW my newest watercolor painting.
Have a great day, hope to see you stop by to visit.
Looks cool and so are your shots! Bet it`s a hard race.
I like the blurred photo -- shows exactly what it looks like when they pass. (We saw a leg of the TourDeFrance -- it went through London when we were there; I honestly couldn't even get my camera focused in time to snap a picture!)
You really captured the moment with these!
Your panning shots reminded me that I tried panning shots on a Shinkan-sen bullet train. It was so difficult that I couldn't done it properly though I tried many times.
