This is the aftermath of a bush fire in the Blue Mountains of Australia...a few hours from Sydney, NSW...
The fire came to the property line of a beautiful hotel where we stayed just 3 weeks after the flames were put out.

My husband and I walked down this road to the bottom of the valley.
The fog and rain made it an eerie few hours!
Amazingly, this yellow wheel escaped the flames!
And, equally amazing, the regeneration of this tree fern is just 3 weeks old.

The fog looks like smoke. The burn smell was still quite strong in the damp weather.
We weren't alone...someone else is braving the fog and rain, too.

It is amazing what Mother Nature can do. You would think it would due years before anything would grow again in this area, and only after 3 weeks there is new growth. Wildfires are so devastating. We have had some bad ones here in VA but not o flat. I am sososo afraid of fire. My daddy was a safety engineer, so I am OCD about it. Your photos are beautiful though the material you photographed is very sad. genie

It 's good to see that the ferns springs back to life quickly. Great captures.
Our bushfires here in Australia are all to freuent and they can cause immense devastation. However, they are part of nature's cycle and some plant seeds will not germinate unless they go through a bushfire's intense heat.

I can relate to the destruction of fires as we had devastating wildfires after record breaking heat and drought ... it is amazing how Mother Nature recuperates with such beauty among such devastation. The yellow wheel does stand out as a beacon of sunshine! Happy Monday!
