Sydney's Icons

While planning our trip to Australia, I had much anticipation of photographing Sydney's two great iconic landscapes...the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge.  I wanted my photos to be special to me and not like every postcard on the racks throughout the country.
The top photo was taken on a very rainy night - November 23, 2011.

This image was taken the next afternoon.
It was still very rainy with a dark sky.

Jerry and I walked across the Harbor Bridge a few days later.
We lingered on the bridge for quite a while watching the boats and activity beneath us.

All of your photos are great but I especially like the last one of the bridge, the perspective is stunning. Your views of the Sydney Opera House are unlike so many others I have seen. I really like it with the bridge in the background.

Thanks for your comment on my little AK ornament. It was a gift from a friend and hung on my tree in Anchorage for several years. Surprisingly it is still in one piece.

I think you succeeded in getting unique images of the bridge and opera house. The first photo of the opera house is very dramatic.

I really love the last pic of the bridge.

Congratulations, and thanks for sharing.

Great shots! I doubt I'll ever make to that part of the world again but I love seeing pictures.

You accomplished your mission, Carolyn. These are unique shots of the two icons. My favorite is the top one of the rough and powerful sea with the Opera House in the distance. The dark weather just adds to the moodiness of the photos.

Truly are icons.
