Undersea Expedition - Catalina Island, California USA

My husband and I took our Grandson, Chase, to Catalina Island this past Monday, July 30, 2012.
Our little guy was so excited to see so many fish while on the "Undersea Expedition" tour.
A semi-submersible submarine drops the windows down 6 feet below the surface and then travels to the kelp forest a short distance off shore.

There were only a dozen or so people on this tour so we had room to jump from side to side enjoying the view from many windows.

The crew attracts the fish with food, of course.

what a wonderful world it is beneath the surface of the sea...

I have snorkeled here with my students during several science camps in the past...
The kelp forest is actually quite spooky!

Our grandson really loved it...so, it was a SUCCESS!
