A Journey From Queenstown to Franz Josef, South Island, New Zealand

The aqua blue Arrow River at Arrowtown, South Island, New Zealand.

Arrowtown sprang up in the 1860's when gold was discovered in the Arrow River.

Vineyards and wineries create a beautiful landscape in the Queenstown and Arrowtown areas of the South Island.

...and the beautiful lupine lines the highway on this first day of summer in New Zealand.

...lots of hay rolls!

The Kawarau River joins up with the Clutha River at Cromwell.
I am not sure which one this is since they both seem to cross the highway on the map.

There are many beautiful rivers to see on any journey in New Zealand.
The journey is every bit as wonderful as the destination!

What a beautiful place! I may never actually go there, but I'd sure like to. Nice photos Carolyn!
