Szentendre, Hungary3

I loved exploring this village!
First uphill and now downhill...something to see around every bend.

All the houses and buildings are different.

Our dear Agnes has found some people to talk with...probably about photography!

okay...we got her back...onward we go.
I spy a cafe ahead on the left...outdoor tables!
Perfect!

Jenny is ready for a snack and so are the rest of us!
Great idea!

We will choose the first table on the right...perfect!

It can't get any better than this...a bride and groom walk by with their photographer!
Little did they know they had about 5 photographers when we joined in...oh, now this is fun!

They are so young!

The bride and groom move on but more people arrive to keep us amused with our photography!

There is something to be said about village life!
Such a great day and it's not over yet...more to come.

Szentendre, Hungary2

After walking and eating our way through the center of the village we set out to explore.
Szentendre is a tiered little village with many interesting neighborhoods on the higher levels, which, of course, require steps and more steps!
I had some serious exposure problems with these photos, but, I'm posting them anyway...
It was not a 'light friendly' time of day!

Every level took us to the roof top view of the area...a grand view!

The roof tops are now at eye-level but it gets better!

...part and only part of the grand view!

This is the Parish of St. John, a Roman Catholic Church.

A man reads in peace on the church grounds.

We saw this little shop as we looked over the edge of the church property to the level below...
beautiful hand made Hungarian pottery.

...a few steps to the left from where we were standing we can now see more rooftops and the beautiful Danube River as it flows from the north and west towards Budapest and beyond to the Black Sea.

 I loved this roof...totally charming!

We are now inside a local art museum.
No photography is allowed inside.
I took this photo of a mother with her young child outside the window.
The docent heard my camera and rushed to tell me not to take photos!
I showed her it was not of the artwork but she kept an eye on me anyway...oops!

This is Blagovestenska Church...Greek Orthodox... which is below in the village center.

Szentendre, Hungary

This is Szentendre, a little village which lies west banks of the Danube River about a half hour's drive north of Budapest.

It's a jewel on the Danube and should not be missed!

There were quaint little restaurants and pastry shops lining the cobblestone village streets.

Our dear friend, Agnes, disappeared for a little while but came back with 4 of these in her hands!
Oh, were they delightful treats!
The cappuccinos were also wonderful!
I don't know the name of this delicious treat, but it doesn't matter...
All four were devoured in a flash!

The menus were challenging for those of us who don't speak or read Hungarian...and, that would be me!

We're off exploring now...more to follow!

Balloon Glow 'Wave' - Temecula Wine and Hot Air Balloon Festival #3

The balloons form a large but tight circle and their glow bounces from one to the other in a 'wave' to music!
The crowd participates in the 'wave' for added effect and fun.
Here, one is just about ready to light up!

There go two...it's supposed to be just one!
But, at least they are side by side...

Such Fun!

Watching the Glow! Temecula Wine and Hot Air Balloon Festival

My daughter and her family watching the Balloon Glow at the Temecula Wine and Hot Air Balloon Festival this past Friday night.
(June 1, 2012)

Chase loved watching the balloons being unfolded and inflated and all the noise of the glowing flames!
Noah was not liking the flame bursts from the balloons.
He was calm here but the beginning was a bit doubtful for him!

Sara's Graduation - June 2, 2012

My niece and grandson at Dana Point celebrating Sara's graduation.
June 2, 2012
Sara (in red dress) graduated from high school on this day, June 2, 2012.
She is off to Nashville, Tennessee to join her sister (blue dress) for college.
Janelle has only a few classes left before she finishes!

My brother, Fred and his family...it seems he can't pay attention!

Good boy, Fred...he pays attention for only a moment!

Janelle & Noah - Chase & Sara
-my nieces and little grandsons-

It looks like Noah has found his paci (BA).
His mommy and daddy took it away from him a few weeks ago...hmmm!
Happy Graduation Sara!
We LOVE you all!
