These Snowy Egrets were delightful to see at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands Preserve in California USA. just a few days ago.

I love the way the reflection and then the egret and where it is standing work in monochrome. So many layers to this photograph.
Thanks for visiting! Great monochrome picture, but I think I like the color version better ... wish you a great weekend! Irene
I love the tonal qualities in this photo - and the egret
is a great capture amidst this splendour!
This is a great b/w photo. It creates great depth and shadow.
Darryl and Ruth : )
I thought this looked familiar, still beautiful, though to be honest I do prefer the color version of this shot.
I am happy I was able to have a look at the noble scenery.
Thank you.

I guess I love both, color and b/w version.
This looks great in mono and it really is.
Taking off!!! :-)
another one to enjoy, i love the b&w version.
The colour version captures the depth of the trees but this emphasises the birds and as someone said has great tonal balance.
A good choice for converting to monochrome, it works well. If I had to choose, though, I'd pick the color version, I like the rich brown tones in the trees.
Between tne two, I would choose the colored version, but both have great angle shots!
Nature is always close to my heart. Black and white or colored - they still give away the same beauty for the viewers to admire.
This looks great in black and white-also in color!
These are beautiful birds!
Pssst.... how much sleep did you get?
I am going to have my coffee and bagel now.
Stunning monochrome!
Nice, but I think it's nicer still in colour.
