Very nice deep colors, Carolyn! I like the way you framed this. We're teased with a partial view of the blossom but see the entire shadow. Well done!

Stunning contrasts. Lovely composition. Do I see another bud appearing there?

One of my mother's favorite plants...she had them blooming each and every Christmastime. Your blossom is a gorgeous red...and the shadow cast is great.

Brilliant red amaryllis!

SILLY SHADOW DITTY

Shadows may or may not be
Patterns of urbanity.
If a shadow threatens you,
Here, my dear, is what to do:
Grab the shadow by the throat,
Toss it to a billy goat,
So the goat can chomp and chew,
Keeping it away from you!

I love the way you have composed this picture! Just a small showing of the flower, it is like a tease and makes you want to see more. The full shadow on the wall is great! Love it!

I bet if the actual flower wasn't showing I would have thought the shadow was of some ornate windmill! Such a nice, crisp ShadowShot. Have a great SSS!

ps-I used to take my (once) little grandchildren to the Phoenix Zoo all the time. Sweet memories.

Pretty.
I don't have much of a green thumb, so I would be very happy. :)

A DAMSEL WHO LOVED SHADES OF RED

A damsel who loved shades of red
Discovered she’d been sore misled;
She had no more rose,
Nor blush for her nose—
If she finds the thief, the guy’s dead!

Success indeed! I stopped doing houseplants when we sold the house -- your beautiful amaryllis reminds me that I could try again, now that we aren't quite so mobile.

Lovely shadow picture!
