SkyWatch Friday, Weekend Reflections / Midnight Sun

Please click on photo to enlarge!
This float plane is tied for the night.
It is midnight and the sun just set moments before I took this shot.
Other float planes were coming back after their scenic flights throughout the day.

The first photo shimmers with gold!

PLANETS HURTLING THROUGH THE SKY

Planets hurtling through the sky,
Can you tell me one thing: Why
Are you intent on fleeing
Far from human sight and seeing?

Midnight sun in Alaska is so bright and gorgeous! Also at the same time, it is tranquil and soothing. I love the stunning reflections in the ripples. Just beautiful! Have a great day!

You don't get much sleep as moments later the sun rises again. We experience the midnight sun in Norway and the Prof at both polar regions.

Lovely shots.

Great series. I have no big desire to travel to Alaska, but now that you mention the long light....and show these lovely scenes, I may have to change my mind.

You were up late to get these gorgeous shots. I love the reflections in the first two.

The first summer I lived in Anchorage I had a really hard time sleeping with it still being light outside. This was really bad for my work. I finally got some very thick drapes for my bedroom.
