Weekend Reflections / Chasing the Waves

I converted this photo to a black and white with some selective coloring.
I'm not sure if I like it but, I did learn something new...if I can just remember how I did it.
My husband and I were walking on the beach when I spotted the reflections of this man and his two young sons having some fun along the water.

Thank you, James for hosting this meme!

This is a wonderful reflection and such a beautiful scene. I keep thinking I'll do weekend reflection because I love reflection shots but I haven't joined in yet.

It's definitely an interesting effect, it draws the viewer's attention to the small kid in the middle. I think it's a good effect.

Good capture of the reflections. I like the stance of the boy in yellow. He appears ready to be chased by the next wave.

I've never managed that selective colouring thing.
I like the brilliant yellow.

Very well done! The colors added back in are perfect!

I LOVE the selective color... the waves in the ocean have so much more texture than I can imagine if you had left the entire pic color! :)

How interesting. That's a technique I haven't tried. What program did you use? I think this turned out very well.

Sorry I've been so busy lately and have not had a chance to drop by. I did get caught up tonight though on what you've been doing and I'm glad I did. You're keeping up your great tradition.

I like the final image to be honest. ..and having never formally studied the art, thats how I learn.

That is an interesting technique if you can remember how you did it! I,too, love to catch reflections in the wet sand as the wave moves back from the beach!

Well done Carolyn! I've done selective coloring but I'm thinking you must use something easier than me because I don't think I'd have gotten the color in the sand. :)

Great shot Carolyn -- I like it a lot.

Great reflection. I usually don't like added color to B/W but the yellow works beautifully in this one.

All in all it's a fabulous photo. I love the black and white and how it contrasts with the color on the people and in the reflections. It really makes me feel like I'm right there with them (or with you and your camera!) I think you did a great job!
