SkyWatch Friday & Looking at the Sky on Friday / Flood Control Channel at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California USA

This is a flood control channel that runs beside the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
It was a rainy day but I chose to take the drive to view the float decorating anyway.
People have to be rescued from these channels every year because it seems they don't know what the fences are for...smart, huh?
The sky had a little bit of attitude at 5:00 p.m.
No rain, PLEASE, for the Rose Parade on New Years Day!

Great photo, not the normal everyday Rose Bowl area photo.

Enjoy the New Years in Pasadena. Have fond memories of the Rose Bowl parade, haven't seen it for about 30 years now.

Cali's gettin' too much rain these days, so NO MORE RAIN, GOD! Say pretty please! heheheee
I'd say the sky really did have a bit of an attitude, but it sure looks cool! =)

Still quite a few hours until the parade. Here's hoping it's dry.
I remember watching the Rose Bowl Parade on black and white TV when I was a kid. LOL
All the best for 2011.

Nice shot. We have channels like that here in Colorado too, and every year people climb into them and need to be rescued.

Well I hope the weather clears up for your parade. How much have you gotton now? People would have to be nuts to get close to the fast moving water.

It looks like you were standing in the channel. . . they didn't have to rescue you did they??? Good luck for the weather on New Year's Day.

I always love the signs we see in CA and AZ to the effect that you shouldn't drive in ditches when they're flooded. "Avoid ditches when filled with water." Duh!
Happy New Year -- I will add my hopes for no rain for you. You've certainly gotten more than your share so far.

We've always wanted to watch the float-building. How great you get to do that,.

Happy New Year.

That's unusual to see so much water flowing through there. Nice view you've captured here. It's been cold and dreary here in the Bay Area...not too much rain. I think you're getting more down south than we are. Happy new year and thanks for visiting my skies!
