Taieri Gorge Railway - Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand

This is the beginning of an afternoon ride on the Taieri Gorge Railway.
We have been looking forward to this!
Dunedin Railway Station, Dunedin, South Island, New Zealand

We had assigned seating which was great but outside between the cars was even better!

This is going to be beautiful!
Two hours back into the gorge and 2 hours to return to Dunedin!

The Taieri River is visible most of the way.

We're somewhere in the middle of the train.

We made a stop at Hindon.
No one was there to be picked up,
but we were able to get off the train for a stretch and to enjoy the view of the Taieri River.

A locked container...

New Zealand appreciates the work of the sheep dogs.
We saw several dedications like this around the country.

The stop at Hindon was scenic...

Some passengers are lingering and walking a bit...

It's about time to get back on the train...Jerry had better do just that!

just a view of the tracks beside us...
