Today's Flowers, Shadow Shot Sunday / Desert Wildflowers, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, California USA

I saw a lot of these orange daisy like flowers while photographing the desert wildflowers at Anza Borrego Desert State Park last weekend.
It was late afternoon and the light was illuminating their faces, but, I wanted to photograph them from their backsides to capture their transparency with perfect light like this.

I love this time of day on the desert!

Weekend Reflections / Borrego Springs Resort and Country Club, California USA

After being out on the desert floor all afternoon checking out the desert wildflowers, we relaxed at the Borrego Springs Resort and Country Club for dinner.

The outdoor dining area is right in front of this beautiful water scene...full of the reflections I am always craving to find.

The reflections became more intense as the sun dropped closer to the rim of the mountains behind me.

This coyote was interested in a duck dinner and a big drink of
water.

Shadow Shot Sunday / Desert Shadows in Anza Borrego State Park, California USA

We went out to Anza Borrego State Park, yesterday, to view the many varieties of desert wildflowers.
We walked along this dirt road with a few other people observing the flowers close by.
The desert floor is covered with them...whites, pinks, purples, yellows, oranges...
The day was sunny so some nice shadows were sweeping across the sand.

It was a picture perfect day to be outside walking in the desert!

We took a drive out to Anza Borrego State Park yesterday to view the desert wildflowers.
This is a scene from a turnout on the mountain road that leads to the desert floor.
The white spot in the distance is a dry lake bed and the left side of the photo shows the "green" desert floor.
The first sighting of color is the Yellow Desert Brittlebush.
The Anza Borrego Badlands are off in the distance.

The Ocotillo will be ablaze in red flowers soon!
