SkyWatch Friday & Looking at the Sky on Friday - Lamp Post Standing on Sandia Peak, Albuquerque, New Mexico USA

This lamp stands on Sandia Peak over Albuquerque, New Mexico during the "blue" hour following sunset.
Sandia Peak is 10,378 feet in elevation that affords a magnificent view of the city and valley below, both day and night.
We were enjoying the night view as we waited for the tram (or) gondola to return to the top of the mountain to carry us back down.
I couldn't take my eyes off this lamp...

A table waiting for a group of friends or family to enjoy...
My husband and I certainly enjoyed our table on the top of Sandia Peak (Crest) overlooking the beautiful city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the night before the Balloon Fiesta began.  (10,300+  feet in the sky!)

hosted by James...thank-you, James!

SkyWatch Friday, Looking at the Sky on Friday / Sandia Peak at Sunset, Albuquerque, New Mexico USA

My husband and I took the aerial tram up to Sandia Peak which is the ski area above Albuquerque, New Mexico.  It was the night before the opening of the Balloon Fiesta so there were many people enjoying the view down below.

About 5 minutes later...

Another 5 minutes or so later...

...and then, Albuquerque becomes a sea of lights.  Lightning was creating quite a show in the western sky.
It was a bit nerve wracking seeing the brilliant flashes as we descended from the 10,300+ foot peak well after dark.
