Community Photo Challenge (white), Today's Flowers & Scenic Sunday - Buckets of White Roses

These buckets of white roses were waiting to be placed on various Rose Parade floats yesterday.
I drove over to Pasadena to watch, once again, the decorating.
It is Thursday night...the judging is tomorrow morning...the parade is Saturday morning.
and...these roses were still in buckets yesterday late afternoon...
they will finish, they always do!

...and more white roses...

...and more white roses...

There were buckets of flowers of all kinds and colors, but...I LOVE white roses!
I can't wait to see the finished floats on New Years morning...Happy New Year to all of you!

The theme is "white."

Scenic Sunday, Mellow Yellow / Yellow Roses Peeking Through a Fence

I pass this fence daily while walking my dog.
These yellow roses were waiting to greet us on the sidewalk.

Monochrome Weekend / White Roses on Lido Isle, Newport Beach, California USA

I posted these roses in color for the Today's Flowers meme and then decided to convert them to black and white, and post them again, for Monochrome Weekend.
I found these white roses, yesterday, on Lido Isle in Newport Beach, California.

Today's Flowers / Roses on Lido Isle, Newport Beach, California USA

The residents of Newport Beach, CA seem to really enjoy roses.
I noticed that most of the homes have lots of beautiful rose bushes.
I found these along the waterfront of Lido Isle last evening.
I like how the evening light illuminated the bottom rose.

Today's Flowers / Wedding Day

Red and white roses lined the center isle of the church for my son-in-law's brother's wedding, which was yesterday...Jan. 23, 2010

Fluffy white bows alternated with the red and white roses.

Our 2 1/2 year old grandson was the ring bearer for his Uncle Donny.
There was much anticipation (and worry) before the wedding that little Chase would not "walk" down the isle
like a very good little boy!

We were delighted!

The pillow was still intact after the ceremony!

But...Chase wanted to run around the church garden during the photo session.  He really didn't want to deal with all of these posing sessions, until...

...his even younger little cousin made a get-away from his daddy's watchful eye!
Chase thought it was hilarious and gave us the smiles we were waiting for.

The little 8 year old flower girl didn't think it was that funny!
I love the cool hand on the hip pose...

The "real" photographer loved the mood change!

And...so did his Aunt Margaret...

...and Uncle Donny.

I think I am done with these groups photos!

The bride is enjoying a calm and casual moment with her twin sister.

It's the first day after the week long storm in California.
It's sunny and beautiful but quite chilly.
A guest lends Margaret his jacket.
