SkyWatch Friday and Looking at the Sky on Friday / Flower Fields, Carlsbad Ranch, California USA

I took a day trip, yesterday, to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad Ranch, California.
There are 50+ acres of rows and rows and rows of the Giant Tecolote Ranunculus.
You can pay an additional $5 to take a ride on this tractor drawn wagon through the fields.

The flowers are arranged in alternating colors and then there are rows of mixed colors.
There are still a lot of buds on these plants...
The best is yet to come!

I do want to go back in the later part of the day to get the "nice" light.
These were taken in the early afternoon...a bit harsh for photos.
The red and yellow were a feast to the eyes!

There was a beautiful BLUE SKY!

That's My World Tuesday / Valley View, Yosemite National Park, California USA

I can never get enough of this valley.
There are limitless numbers of places to view and photograph it.
You can see El Capitan on the left, Bridalveil Falls and Cathedral Rocks on the right as well as Sentinel Rock in the distance on the right.
The Merced River is in the forefront.

This is a closer view of Cathedral Rocks towering above Bridalveil Falls.
The Merced River is in the forefront capturing glorious golden reflections.

This is a closer view of Sentinel Rock shock earlier in the day.

A closer view of Sentinel Rock.
This massive granite monolith towers above several campgrounds.
If you want to feel really small...camp here!

I am a fan of signs...

This is the tunnel that leads to Yosemite Valley from the south entrance of the park.
The valley is behind us in this photo, as we were driving out of the valley.

The theme is "forefront."
The glowing lights on the tunnel walls is the forefront while the road leading into the forest is the background.

Today's Flowers / Azaleas in Claremont Village, California USA

Claremont Village, California is abloom with azaleas right now.
They are a beautiful sight and they smell so nice too.

I liked these shots of the flowers hugging the tree trunk.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate...

Photo Hunter / Theme is "sweet"

This is my grandson, Chase.
He was very surprised at the giant hot fudge ice cream sundae before him.
We stopped at a local Bob's Big Boy restaurant for lunch after an outing.
Wait until his mommy and daddy see this!
Grandma (that's me) will be in BIG trouble!

The theme is "sweet."

Color Carnival / Easter Eggs on the Table...Shutterday/ Pink

My Easter table decoration...and there might just be something special in those eggs for my little grandson, Chase...hmmm?

The upper, mid, and lower falls.

The melting ice up above is feeding these falls.
They will become even more thunderous in later April, May and June.
This is another view of the upper falls.

A closer view.

Weekend Reflections / Mirror Lake, Yosemite National Park, California USA

These reflections show the cliffs of granite that surround Mirror Lake in Tenaya Canyon of Yosemite Valley.
Mirror Lake sits at the base of  Half Dome, which is to the right in the top photo.
We hiked the trail along this beautiful little lake and up Tenaya Canyon along Tenaya Creek.
 The reflections are plentiful here!

Being on amazing trails is what my husband and I love to do.
This is Mirror Lake in Yosemite National Park, California USA.
The lake is at the foot of Half Dome in the east part of Yosemite Valley.
We took a nice long AND scenic trail eastward along the lake and up Tenaya Canyon.
We found a nice place on Tenaya Creek to sit and enjoy our "sorry" lunch that we carried along.
We're not very good planners for packing food.
We don't want the bears to smell anything too good.

There are reflections just about everywhere you look on this beautiful little lake.
I took countless photos of  Half Dome along the trail.
Every sighting of this amazing landmark is a photo op!
And...the sky...fabulous for a long hike!

We sat right on the edge of this creek for lunch...we sure didn't want to leave.

This is the view if we looked up during our lunch...not bad!
That's Half Dome through the trees.

There were a few obstructions along the way.

I can't resist another view of the beautiful Half Dome beneath that beautiful blue sky!
