Queenstown Skyline Gondola - Queenstown, New Zealand

 Queenstown Skyline Gondola

We could see our hotel from the top!
(aqua colored roof with big pine on the property)

 Lake Wakatipu is a beauty!

A glimpse of the TSS Earnslaw, an elegant turn of the century steamship and one of the last remaining coal fired passenger vessels operating in the Southern Hemisphere.

some facts about the area...

We enjoyed our time up high above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu.

Jetboating on Lake Wakatipu
is a wild ride for all to enjoy from up above!

Gold Panning on the Shotover River, Skipper's Canyon New Zealand

We had a great experience panning for gold along the Shotover River in Skipper's Canyon.
Since our hands were very busy neither one of us got pictures of the 'panning' experience.
But we did manage to find 4 itsy bitsy flecks!
Yay!

Afterward we ventured out on this suspension bridge to view the river and canyon.
The shadow appears in the image.

I played with different exposure values of the same view.

...a view from the opposite side of the bridge.

 the bridge...

Jerry got a few shots of Karen and me.

a beautiful landscape captured by Jerry

 and, empty bridge.

 some close-ups...

Hope we don't exceed the 'load' limits!

 just in case!

we found this cutie just before we left...
back to Queenstown for the rest of the day.

Jetboating on the Shotover River, Skipper's Canyon NZ - Carolyn's Photos

We have arrived at our jetboating destination and are in the process of finding our seats for 'adventure'!
A helicopter is dipping down to get up close and personal to the Shotover River.

Now, it leaves spraying water and dust into the air.

Our driver gives us some safety information and we are soon off and flying across the water.

I got a few photos but was actually quite afraid to hold my camera (DSLR) up for fear of getting it wet or losing it.

The river is actually quite shallow with curves and rocks to maneuver.

This is Judith pointing to something important.
What ever could it be?

 Now she smiles

 ...for the camera!

John, our Irish friend, has a big smile too!

We were a very congenial group having a GREAT time!

 Skippers Canyon bungee jump!
Not for me!

...a look back at that bungee bridge!  wOw!
The courage it would take to jump off the bridge!
This jump doesn't operate anymore.  It's been replaced by the Pipeline Bungee Jump (even higher)nearby.
Not for me, either!

A rafting group gets ready to begin their adventure as we finish up.

Our boat waits for the next group.
We had BIG FUN!
...and, survived!

Group Pic!

Kayaks at Fisherman's Cove, Laguna Beach, California USA

The day is over for this kayak rental place on the bluff overlooking Fisherman's Cove at Laguna Beach, California USA.

I was fascinated with various perspectives while shooting the colorful scene.

If I came back another day the colors would be in a completely different order...
could tempt me to take more pictures!
