Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot / " Houses of Worship"

This is the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Orange County, California.
The main sanctuary was constructed with 10,000 panes of rectangular glass and was designed to withstand an 8.0 magnitude earthquake.
It is a Christian Protestant church with an international congregation.
The Sunday worship services are also televised on the "Hour of Power" each week.
Up to 2900 worshipers can be seated in this "mega-church."
Considered a southern California landmark, this church attracts many daily visitors year round.
My family has attended a few special programs and services in this church...but, we are not members here.

The bell tower is quite unique.

Hi Carolyn, Thank you for showing this beautiful church. Hour of Power is here on TV every Sunday and I like to watch it. We can never see how the church really is so I am happy I can see proper pictures of it now. It is really stunning.

That is an impressive-looking church. All that glass .. wow! I like the bell tower very much. You took great pictures of a stunning building.

I've never seen anything like that! Thanks for posting the information about it too.
(I could learn from that)
In answer to your question about my "worship houses", they are both nearby my home which is ALSO in Orange County. (NY that is)

Take care,
Nancy

Great shot, though places like that irk me. Honestly does God care that it's that elaborate, really?!
I think he wouldn't care if it was a crystal palace or a barnyard.
Ridiculous. The building not the pic.

It's funny. I used to go to elementary school a few blocks from there. That was before all of the "crystal" it was just that building with the bells and the tall cross. That building along with "the City Building" used to dominate the area. Now they seem so insignificant.

The first photograph is easy on the eye but the last holds my imagination with a brilliant capture of the bells and the steps that must combine to produce music.

This photograph will stay in my mind for a long time.

Congratulations on 'seeing' the essential picture as far as I am concerned.

I have been here before and it has a lot of great improvements. It is a very beautiful church inside and out.

It looks an art rather than a church for me.
