I have spent 2 days this week in Pasadena, California watching the decorating of the Rose Parade floats. It is now officially 2010 and those amazing floats are staged on Orange Grove Avenue in their lineup for the parade which starts promptly at 8 a.m. in the morning. I am posting just some of the photos I took of the flowers that were being put on the amazing designs of these floats yesterday, Dec. 30. I posted several photos in earlier posts of the same floats but without the flowers. What a dramatic change in just 24 hours...The scaffolding is still surrounding the floats as the volunteers work like bees to meet the deadline. What a splendid experience it was!

Happy New Year Carolyn (USA) :o) and thanks for your visits and your comments :o)
Carolyn, your photos this week of the parade preparations have just delighted me. I hope you don't mind, I "borrowed" a couple to post on my blog today with a link back to you. I wanted to share them with some of my readers who don't participate in Outdoor Wednesday. The whole lot would make such a pretty photo book, you did an awesome job.
Happy 2010!
They look fabulous! Happy New Year. :)
Thank you for sharing some of the colours and flowers you have with us here among the ice and snow :-)
Great photos, I bet that was quite the experience! Thanks for sharing.
Very, VERY cool! What a fun thing to experience in person!
OH! And Happiest New Year to you and your family!
I love parades, but the Tournament of Roses Parade is the granddaddy of them all. Just the thought of all the preparation staggers my mind. You captures some great images here -- love those birds!
The first photo is my favorit!
Happy New Year!
Regards...Luna
I discovered your blog from a link at Shellbelle's Tiki Hut. What wonderful close ups you took of the floats! Television does not do the flowers justice. Thanks for posting these!
Love all those colours and flowers and birds.
I have been enoying your photos from Pasadena these days. I am happy that I can see the preparation work for the floats through your blog. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the very enjoyable "insider" view. As an animal fan, it was fun to see the big birds and their eggs!
