Midweek Blues / Sentimental Pottery

This pottery was a gift to us from my husband's very close friend who has since passed away from cancer.  A family member of his made this cup and two matching bowls.  These pieces are very sentimental to us.

Seems as though the blues may have a double meaning. I always find it ironic the objects outlast those we love! {{{hugs}}}

That is incredibly interesting, very creative by the maker. So glad you have something so special to remember your friend.

They are beautiful not just for the beautiful artwork but for the sentimental value.

Have a happy WW!

It's LOVELY and all the more special because your husband's friend made it. I have pottery my sister made years ago when she was on sabbatical from teaching ... long before she and her husband adopted their boys. I was sad when she sold her wheel and they dismantled the kiln in their back yard to make their home larger. I'm sorry about the passing of your husband's dear friend.
Hugs and blessings,

Nice photo and piece. I like the simplicity of the shape and the blue+white colors. And the sentimental value always adds something.

I Carolyn, this cup is sooooooo pretty! Momentos from friends now departed are held very dearly aren't they?

Happy MidWeek Blues. I'm doing it again this week.

The pottery looks more sentimental to look at than before I read your story. You certainly captured the sad story together with the pottery.
