This grape vine can be found on Olvera Street, Los Angeles. There is still some nice color here, even in mid-January. The purple grapes and colorful leaves are striking against this little blue building.
Oh wow it's been years since I've been to Olvera street! In elementary school I went there for a field trip. Love this photo. Great catch for blue monday, too!
More great shots from you today and the grape vines in winter sure say Southern California to me. It reminds me of the never pruned Concord that took over part of our yard when I was a kid. I can taste them now just as I did when I would squirt the pulp into my mouth (the skin being too tough to chew). You look at the world with a photographer's eye, bringing gret shots where ever you go.
Beautiful captures! Love the grapes and the blue building! Love all the colors! It's been fun seeing the vineyards appearing here in Washington, too. Have a great week! Enjoy!
What a gorgeous picture! Surprisingly, I've never ventured down Olvera Street. I keep wanting to go, but sometimes Los Angeles feels like a world away.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment the other day, I really appreciate it!
Hello Carolyn! what a great picture ... I love the wide variety of colours and textures ... quite an evocative image for me!!! maybe because dad grew his own grapes in our garden whilst growing up! have a wonderful day! Gena @ Thinking Aloud a photoblog South Africa

Wonderful shot of the grapes and it is great that you can watch them growing in California in January.
Lovely shots. Looks like autumn here in Stockholm.

The lamp too against the vines just pops out at you.
Only grapes in Ohio are in the stores and they don't look as nice as the ones in your photo. LOL
What a lovely photo. Imagine grapes in your garden in January. Wonderful
It certainly is lovely.

Beautiful shot and amazing to have grapes growing this time of year.

Lovely photo. I'm surprised the birds haven't picked the grapevine clean!
