Brenda's Photo Challenge / Weathered and Worn

This beach front cottage was built in 1920 and is now in dire need of restoration.
It is one of 42 historic cottages being restored in Crystal Cove, California.
The movie Beaches was filmed, starring Bette Midler, in cottage #13 and it is also on the list to be restored in the near future.
Thirteen of the 42 cottages are now available for rental, but, there is at least a six month wait.
If you are interested...plan ahead!
This is one of my favorites and you can see there is a lot of work needed.

The theme is weathered and worn.

Even in its current condition it is quite lovely. I would love to stay there for awhile.

It has a certain charm in this condition but will eventually fall apart if it isn't restored soon. How interesting that there are 42 historic cottages in Crystal Cove.

Huh! Guess what old movie I want to rent now! It's great that this restoration is taking place. But the cottage in its present condition is very interesting (if only it wouldn't erode any further).

Interesting architecture. I hope this cottage is renovated soon before it's too late.

It looks a little scary in it's current condition but I'd love to stay there when it is fixed up a bit. Love the colors in the foilage on the hill side.

I actually like the look very much. Those beach houses take alot of wear and tear due to that salt air but this one looks pretty good.

It does look like it might sway a little to the left if there was a heavy breeze. These are the types of cottages that make the area more interesting.

It looks like it is going to crash sooner or later ^_^. Too bad if this cottage will not be restored, a place along the beach is awesome!! Happy Saturday!

It's great even worn. I bet it was a show place once upon a time.

Neat old house, even if it is listing to one side, LOL!

Good photo! Wonder why this poor old house was allowed to wear so badly. It is need of a huge infusion of TLC.
