That's My World Tuesday, Ruby Tuesday / More Tall Ships in the Sunset

I'm continuing with my tall ships from last Friday night.
The sunset parade of Tall Ships is an annual event here in Dana Point, California.
Friday night is the best part of the weekend festival...that's my opinion, anyway.
"Yo Ho Yo Ho, a pirates life for me!"

This red "ship" just might be my favorite.

The pirate ship sails to the harbor.
My husband and I, along with hoards of other people, like to sit on the breakwater to watch these old schooners...hoping a rogue wave doesn't knock us into the harbor on the other side of the wall!
The light and colors change dramatically during the 1/2 hour these "ships" come into view.

When I was very, very young (a long, long time ago) there was a song about "Red Sails in the Sunset" and I thought it was just wonderful (I was just a small child) and I still remember it. I agree, the ship with the red sails is my favorite, too.

These tall ships were never so close to us to photograph on Saturday. The sunset was beautiful and the colors blended very well on the sails.

They are beautiful shots.

Stunning pictures! Sometimes the Tall Ships grace our harbors, too. Aren't they something?

I like the ruby red sails too, but am enchanted of the sailing ships of yore. Sleek enough to skim the waves if the wind was behind you. Of course, in the old days it could take you along time to get anywhere, so the charm in the boats came from their style and the imagination that a fair wind can take us places formerly in our dreams...

Those ships of another era are just sooo wonderful. I love the red sails, they remind me of the old song 'Red Sails in the Sunset'.

My school kids produced a musical on pirates last year. It was amazing, Yo ho ho, that was what the kids kept saying.
