Scenic Sunday, Mellow Yellow & Ruby Tuesday / The Painted Desert, Arizona USA

The Painted Desert (Arizona, USA) is looking mighty fine at sunset.
This view is southeast with the light creating some majestic cloud color as the sun sets in the west.

Even though this shot is in the same direction, the clouds, light and color change in a matter of minutes.

Now it is raining in the distance.
The colors change in different areas of this desert.
I am looking forward to posting a totally different palette soon.

My husband and I were all alone here.
The "quiet" was almost haunting...no...it WAS haunting!

Were you standing on top of a ridge. The redness looks like the soil has been baked and ready to eat,

Wow - what a palette of colours ! In the sky, on the ground, the plants. I saw a similar effect by the Grand Canyon when we were there years ago - stunning, and you`re right - changes before your eyes !

The Painted Desert...goes well with the photos.Good shots. Wish Monet is around to give us the real painted version of this:). Love the colors.

Sadly, the camera is not able to capture the haunting part of this desert:).

how nice to see it. I visited the area once, too long ago. I don´t remember this view. Things like this really triggers the memories. :)

Very 'other-worldly'. To European eyes anyway. Beautifully composed.

your photos are gorgeous, absolutely! Have you considered a blog template that will let you post larger images so that we can enjoy your photography even better? It is an easy switch, the click of a button.
Gorgeous post.

Stunning! When I visited this park, it was high noon and the sky was blue. The colors were wonderful but nothing like these scenes. What a perfect time of the day you caught these at and the sky looks painted too!

Beautiful shots. You can have them framed and hang on the wall. :)

All of these are absolutely beautiful - did you use any filters? The balance of the earth and sky came out so perfectly!

Blog hopping on Ruby Tuesday's and found yours. These are some of the most breathtaking photos ever. You can see why they call it the "painted" desert. I love them--they should be framed.
