I posted what I thought was my last "fall colors" post a few weeks ago.
I posted what I thought was my last "fall colors" post a few weeks ago.
Those photos came from the high country of the Eastern Sierras, California and also Taos, New Mexico.
Little did I know that I would find even more fall colors in Maui, Hawaii.
These trees are brilliant orange, yellow and red right now.
I really don't think Maui knows about the fall season...but, there are fall colors in the Hana area of southeastern Maui.
These same trees are deep green everywhere else around the island, that I saw anyway.
This area is a bluff just above the ocean...certainly NOT high elevation.
Beautiful Hana never disappoints!

Who would guess you'd get beautiful colors like this for fall in Hawaii? Great shots Carolyn.
How completely unexpected! And very beautiful. How lucky that you have time to explore all the strange little corners instead of just the usual tourist places. Thanks for sharing these moments!.
Good eye Carolyn - and wonderful fall colours. Perhaps it's always fall somewhere in the world (?). I thought we'd seen the last too.
I'd never thought about fall in Hawaii!! And what beautiful colors! Just like ours!! And you do have a great eye, Carolyn! Terrific captures! Love it! Hope you have a great week!

Grande effetto questo foglie colorate in terra :)

Buona serata.

Hmmm. It never occurred to me that trees would lose their leaves in Hawaii. Can you tell I have never been there? LOL
I just love your photos! I too have a foot fetish where trees are concerned.
Lovely photos and colors. I'm staying out of the woods in Ohio for awhile. Deer hunting season started today
I’ve always thought of Hawaii as lush green with never-ending palm trees waving in the wind year round with no autumn colors whatsoever. Thanks for sharing these interesting photos of leaves with a blush of red. Reminds me of home in BC. :)
Amazing.
I think I used that word when I commented on someone else's blog a short while ago. So what if the old gray mare's vocabulary ain't what it used to be? It's good to be alive and still be able to be amazed!
Beautiful photos, Carolyn.

Wow...what a beautiful autumn you have. Mine is hidden under a deep blanket of snow. My autumn is stolen...I glad I can enjoy yours.

I love these kinds of photos. I find them both intriguing and serene. I think you did a super job with the perspective in the third one.

Oh my goodness, I would never have imagined fall colors in Hawaii. The reds are so pretty especially mixed with the green and brown.
Fall colors in Hawaii?? I have never imagined that there are deciduous trees in Hawaii!! Great capture!
