The Weekend in Black and White, Camera Critters, Scenic Sunday / Out on the Lava Fields, South Maui, Hawaii

We saw this wild goat, and many others, out on the lava fields as we hiked around La Perouse Bay to the light beacon.

Like a silhouette of the goat - he looks like he is majestically posing for you.

A splendid character looking quite regal as he stands gazing beneath the boughs!

nice shot! Can´t remember seeing any goats when I visited Maui.
The flower I posted are planted in a pot and kept indoors. Outdoors are no flowers now, only snow. :(

This looks almost like the shadow-puppet scenes I saw as a child. As RuneE said, nicely framed.

Great shot. The dark black and white adds a little mystery to it.

You know it's keeping an eye on you out of the corner if it's eye. The silhouette is wonderful.

this is a perfect shot for B&W, I like how he is standing with his head at just the right angle.

Great capture. I do not remember seeing any goats in Maui. But we did see one during our helipcopter ride on Kauai.

I have never thought that there are wild goats in the Hawaiian Islands. It is interesting that tree bough is like a frame for the goat in silhouette. Great shot!

That's a cool silhouette of the goat - you sure he wasn't tame, the way he posed for you ?

It's always a lovely surprise to see an animal in the wild... and even better when we capture them... with the camera, of course! :-) Good one!

goats are sure footed, I have walked on Lava rocks, it is not easy.

My friends from New Zealand didn't like the heat in Hawaii though it sounds so romantic. My husband didn't like it either.

I like to go back to SF.

Great silhouette. He's in a really interesting pose. It's especially effective in black and white!

What a cute little guy with some mean looking horns! Twenty some years ago, we had a whole heard of goats - for milk and meat. We loved them. Tks for coming by and commenting on Jane and the photo from our visit to the St. Louis City Museum. And yes, grandchildren are ever so precious.
