SkyWatch Friday - Feeding Seagulls!

I was under the pier at Newport Beach, CA taking pictures when suddenly a mass of seagulls launched into the air and hovered overhead.

This guy caught a morsel tossed from the side of the pier.
The beach was very damp, cold and cloudy...just a white sky!

Great shots. Being under a flock of seagulls can be "dangerous" ;^) Hope you got away clean.

You always hve something special for Skywatch. I remember the Hawaian scenes.
These birds are waiting for bread being thrown I suppose :-)

Oh, I wonder what made them suddenly take off. Did someone say: French fries?

that is always so much fun to watch.

the gulls here in ocean beach in sf know when to follow anyone coming out of the car with a brown bag/fastfood bag with them :)

they can smell and see food :)

Awesome shots Carolyn, I love the action and feel of chaos. The whiteness of the sky really adds to the drama of the photos.
