Cypress Gardens, Florida (May 16, 09)
Cypress Gardens is a short distance (southwest) of Orlando. We spent a few hours here before driving on to Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg and Tarpon Springs. Cypress Gardens is known for its beautiful gardens (duh) and water shows. You will see photographs of several trees with Spanish Moss hanging from them. That is a common sight all over Florida.
We enjoyed the topiary gardens and the cool shade of the banyan trees. We walked on quiet and peaceful paths throughout the gardens and found a shady place to watch the water skiing and hang gliding over the water. Most people sat in the bleachers but we chose to be different...a shady bench beneath a tree was just perfect!
We kept our eyes open for possible visitors with very sharp teeth and long tails!!!
