Ohau Point Seal Colony, South Island, New Zealand

The adult seals and the youngest pups spend their days here, while the older pups romp in the pond beneath the waterfall across the road in a forested area...about a 15 minute hike.
There is a nice observation trail along this bluff to view the New Zealand Fur Seals in their natural habitat...but, one must follow some common sense rules!

Fairly basic guidelines and interesting facts about the seal population here.

Many of them are camouflaged by their surroundings!
