Color Carnival, Ruby Tuesday, Mellow Yellow, Blue Monday / Brooms Brooms Brooms

We went to an Irish Festival here in the Los Angeles area today.
These colorful brooms caught my attention and I put my camera to work!

That's My World Tuesday, Ruby Tuesday / More Tall Ships in the Sunset

I'm continuing with my tall ships from last Friday night.
The sunset parade of Tall Ships is an annual event here in Dana Point, California.
Friday night is the best part of the weekend festival...that's my opinion, anyway.
"Yo Ho Yo Ho, a pirates life for me!"

This red "ship" just might be my favorite.

The pirate ship sails to the harbor.
My husband and I, along with hoards of other people, like to sit on the breakwater to watch these old schooners...hoping a rogue wave doesn't knock us into the harbor on the other side of the wall!
The light and colors change dramatically during the 1/2 hour these "ships" come into view.

Color Carnival, Mellow Yellow, Ruby Tuesday / Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, Temecula Valley, California USA

The Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival was this weekend.
My husband and I enjoyed the opening on Friday night with lots of music, food, wine and an after dark Balloon Glow event.
The "Mass Ascension" took place Saturday morning between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m.
We live about 70 miles away and arrived about 7:25, therefore missing the best part.
Darn it...double darn it!
But, we did see a whole lot of balloons floating in the sky for an hour or so.
They were all over the valley...about 60 of them.
Some quite high and others not so high.

This guy looks tiny but he's just farther away.
The two large balloons are actually tethered to the ground and will only rise about 40-50 feet.

Those who want to experience a little elevation choose these 2 balloons rather than taking the "real deal!"
Apparently, it's a bit scary!
I don't know...I'm not about to find out.
I'll just enjoy watching and photographing them.

 These two are tethered.

There were balloons everywhere we looked.

And the fire!
What a pretty sight.

Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot, That's My World Tuesday, SkyWatch Friday / Temecula Valley (California) Hot Air Balloon and Wine Festival...Balloon Glow

My husband and I and our son went to the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival this weekend.
It started Friday night with a lot of music, food, wine and the best part of the evening...The Balloon Glow.
It was awesome!
There were so many balloons glowing all together and also one or a few at a time.
The light was constantly changing which made the photography a whole lot of fun.

I am posting a WHOLE LOT of photos...just because I can't stop!

 Ooh...the heat from the burners!
NO problem with mosquitos here!
One balloon was a little slow, but finally got up and GLOWING!
This show doesn't wait for slowpokes...

My friend's 3 year old little grandson  recognized the Target balloon in my photos on Facebook.
If you shop at Target, you might recognize their logo on the red balloon.

I loved this one!

Now...they are all up and ready for action.

 The light kept changing.

Seeing, hearing and feeling the heat from the burners was exciting!

This was Friday night...
The Mass Ascension took place at dawn on Saturday morning.
I am looking forward to posting those photos soon.

ABC Wednesday / "I"

The crowd on the pier at Huntington Beach, California watch with great interest as the 6 people down on the sand perform their kite routine with intense concentration.

There were 6 kites, but one is out of the picture for now.
They all danced around to music with great precision.
It was a very intriguing program to watch!

Somewhat distracting was this guy!
Maybe a style you don't want to imitate?
