Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot #55 (BUGS) / Praying Mantis



A praying mantis that has been hanging out in my backyard for quite some time now. I photographed it's beautiful colorful wings a few weeks ago. Click on Praying Mantis in the label section below to see how colorful a praying mantis is when it's wings are open!!! And...notice it's shadow!

o... ALL THE GREEN is just BEAUTIFUL and look at all that DETAIL! WOW! The focus work on this shot is great too! O ya.. can't forget the shadow!!1 :)

EEEEEK! Shudder ~ shudder... That's a great photo! I especially love the shadow. It gives the whole photograph very nice depth. WELL DONE! :) By the way, I heard that the Praying Mantis is the state bird of Texas. LOL. I wonder if that's true. ;)

I've never seen one of these in real-life. I think they are a very interesting insect. Good find.
