I visited the Flower Fields in Carlsbad Ranch, California this past Wednesday.
There are 50+ acres of amazing color from the Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers.
This is my second posting of them...The flowers are planted in VERY long vertical rows, which I photographed in my first post, which you can see (here).
I wanted to get a cross section of a blend of color for Color Carnival.

There are SO many buds on these plants...it's only going to get better!

You are right about the picture. It's above where they put the Christmas tree.

If it looks this good so early in the season it will be glorious later on.
