Face of the Week / News Crew at the Poppy Reserve, Antelope Valley, California USA

The California Poppy Reserve, Antelope Valley, California USA.
A Channel 4 News van was there shooting a segment for the evening news.
The hillsides are covered with our beautiful state flower!
And, what a fun place to spend a day hiking on the 8+ miles of trails.
This news crew spent most of the day here and finally started shooting at about 5:30 p.m.
I think they were out on the trails for several hours too.

It's hard to look at a face with all of those amazing poppies. :)

WOW!! This is gorgeous! I am not surprised that the news crew shot in this area. What an amazing sight. How do you find so many fun events to attend?

I have a little patch of Poppies in my backyard that I look forward to seeing every year. 8 acres of them must be incredible!

It is always interesting to me how things like this look 'in person' and then how they can appear totally different on the televison. Always cool to see the background on it I think. The poppies are magnificent. Great shot! Thanks so much for participating in 'Face of the Week' - a very good catch! Have a great week!

There's not much better than a sea of poppies! And I love it when the news features something like this. For one thing, it brings people's attention to something beautiful in nature, and for another thing (hopefully) it means there's not too much bad news that day! Nice discovery here.

Oh, gosh, I bet that's a sight to see! We get swathes of common corn poppies some years, and other years, nothing. Nobody would put them in a reserve though!

Hmmm, I am a Channel 2 person, so I do not recognize her face. It looks like it was warm, without a jacket! Our visit yesterday was so cold and windy and the sun did not show up.

P.S. Your comment was the best laugh of the day...I was wearing a long sundress so it was not problem getting on the dirt!

Me, too I want to go back, but....

What fun! I like the people at the top of the hill. No fear of a crowd gathering in this location.
