This youthful lifeguard carries an egg-yoke colored life buoy as he keeps a watchful eye on the x-treme surf conditions at the Newport Wedge in southern California this weekend.
The high surf was generated from a storm off of New Zealand, thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean.
The theme is Y this week...
I am including the letter X because I missed it last week.

I just saw the waves on the news last night. Quite amazing for your area. I like your choices for both X and Y.
Have a great weekend.

Notice the jacket he's wearing... will we ever see the sun here in So. Calif? Still waiting for summer.
Oh, such beautiful water! And sand. Hard to beat that area, for sure.
Wild waves -lovely! :)
Colorful capture. This photo tells quite a tale.
pretty though..
I would rather have the extreme waves than our extreme heat.
The surf must be really powerful having traveled so far from New Zealand.
Stopping by from ABC Wed. Love the warm colors in your photo. Thanks for sharing.
Like feeling the effects of a butterfly's wings, we get the storms from way, way across the ocean. Amazing and your photo is wonderful. I would enjoy looking out at that ocean. Have a great weekend Carolyn.
