SkyWatch Friday, Looking at the Sky on Friday / Lion's Light House For The Visually Impaired, Long Beach, California USA

Lions Light House for Sight @ Rainbow Harbor, Long Beach, California USA.
This faux light house was built in 2000 as a symbol of the fund raising that has been done by the Lions Club for the visually impaired.
The harbor office is located at the bottom of the tower.
It is a white conical tower during the day but, glows with amazing colors at night.

The sky was a brilliant orange 2 nights ago.
I thought the blue light was absolutely dazzling against this intense sky about 25 minutes after sunset.

Very beautiful and a great idea to have that as a symbol which brings attention to the fund raising they are doing.

I love lighthouses, great images and nice to see its a charity lighthouse too. I love the floodlit picture it almost looks as if the tower has been polished. Thanks for sharing:)

The sky sure was red! It amazes me when the sky does that. It's rare but wonderful when it happens.

You entire blog is great. The shot of the lighthouse at night is awesome. You did a super job.

How wonderful this lighthouse is, to recognize an organization that helps in the area of sight. Thus, we see the artistry that allows us to see an almost different building based on the natural and artificial lighting situations. Nice!

The colors in your second photo are absolutely stunning! Very interesting to read about this fake lighthouse too — very appropriate symbol for the fundraising. I hope the project raised lots of funds to help the visually impaired.

How wonderful!!! I grew up in and around that area and I was thinking "Where the heck was that?" I'm so glad you added the year it was built.
Now I'm not questioning my sanity.
