Walking around Balboa Island is one of my favorite things to do in the late afternoon and early evening.

This photo was taken last week at the height of our "June Gloom," which lasted well into July.

The sun came out about 5:15 p.m. just for me to catch this picture.

I enjoyed sitting on the sand and "people watching" yesterday.

It was a gorgeous and sunny day at the beach with mild temperatures.

This girl and her brother captured my attention for quite some time.

My husband and I drove down to Balboa for the late afternoon and evening this past Sunday. It was so nice, as always. People were kayaking, sailing, fishing and walking along the beach. We were treated to the very pleasing sight of dolphins swimming along the shoreline. This is on the top of my list of favorite things to do...walk on a jetty or pier and gaze at the ocean.

We spent the late afternoon and evening walking along the water in Balboa, California. It seemed rather late for these guys to be going out in a kayak, (the mother part of me starts worrying) but I assumed they knew what they were doing...We watched them paddle out to the open ocean...I hope they got back okay...
