The back-side of the Cedar Springs Dam at Silverwood Lake is covered in rocks.

I noticed a red spiky bush along the fence bordering the dam, which is 3350 feet in elevation.

There are still clumps of California Poppies out in the Silverwood Lake area of southern California USA.

The temperatures will soon rise out there and all traces of these beauties will be gone until next spring.

My Heart Aches...

I am struggling to get through this day with a smile.  

I have lost my dear colleague and friend to cancer this morning at 11:14 a.m.

I saw you yesterday, Mike, and bid you farewell so privately.

You didn't know I was there or your sister, Mary Ann.

You were struggling so hard to breathe.

It made my heart ache so much.

I know you are now in a place far grander than this, but, I dedicate this scene to you.

You loved places like this with a bunch of middle school kids tagging along.
"Who invited them, anyway?"
