I am going back into my archived photos for this "pink" post. "Pink" in my life is the amazing Sakura trees in full bloom during my visit to Japan in mid-March of 2008. I was there with my friend, Sally, and we watched the trees transform from the bud stage to full bloom over a 2 week period. My friends, Kenkichi and Yuki-ye took us to see so many others in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto City and on the Amakusa Islands. Late March and early April is a splendid time to visit Japan if you like all shades of "pink!"
This was our last day so we had the morning and early afternoon to go out and see the cherry blossoms one more time in Tokyo. It was a very gray day with threatening rain. The rain did hold off until we got to the airport! Then it poured! We were lucky to have the last few hours rain-free. I only had a simple "point and shoot" camera for the still shots then. In fact, Sally took these photos. I was using a video camera to pan the scenes across hillsides, castle grounds, and parks. I wish I had had my Canon then...but, I didn't. I guess I will have to go back!?
