That's My World Tuesday / The Drumming Never Ends at Huntington Beach, California

It's a beautiful day at Huntington Beach, California
Jan. 24, 2010
It's sunny with almost completely blue skies, a bit windy and a bit chilly,
especially out on the pier.
You will always find these drummers on winter weekends congregating near the pier.
If you have some sort of rhythm instrument,
come join the fun.
Notice how people are dressed!
It's chilly...but, for some that means, sweatshirts, jackets, no sleeves, or no shirts!

The drummers are very young,

a little older,

and... a little older.
Everyone has their own style and THAT is ALWAYS worth a picture!

Some prefer to move to the rhythms and have their own style...

This lady might be a little more eccentric than you would expect?
The drumming just goes on and on and on...

Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring...it doesn't matter, the drummers are there.

Scenic Sunday / Snowy Mountains

Yesterday was the first day after our week long rain storms.
Our local mountains were quite an amazing picture.
It's difficult to get a good shot of them without something obstructing the "perfect" view.
The local airport has a nice clearing behind it without annoying buildings or towers of some sort.

I drove up the mountain road for a short distance to get a closer look.

Today's Flowers / Wedding Day

Red and white roses lined the center isle of the church for my son-in-law's brother's wedding, which was yesterday...Jan. 23, 2010

Fluffy white bows alternated with the red and white roses.

Our 2 1/2 year old grandson was the ring bearer for his Uncle Donny.
There was much anticipation (and worry) before the wedding that little Chase would not "walk" down the isle
like a very good little boy!

We were delighted!

The pillow was still intact after the ceremony!

But...Chase wanted to run around the church garden during the photo session.  He really didn't want to deal with all of these posing sessions, until...

...his even younger little cousin made a get-away from his daddy's watchful eye!
Chase thought it was hilarious and gave us the smiles we were waiting for.

The little 8 year old flower girl didn't think it was that funny!
I love the cool hand on the hip pose...

The "real" photographer loved the mood change!

And...so did his Aunt Margaret...

...and Uncle Donny.

I think I am done with these groups photos!

The bride is enjoying a calm and casual moment with her twin sister.

It's the first day after the week long storm in California.
It's sunny and beautiful but quite chilly.

Camera Critters / Bird Feeders

This bird feeder is in my friend's backyard.  She has two of these hanging feeders which attract a lot of attention. These beautiful feathered critters are having a feast on a very rainy day! I shot these through a window and I struggled with the focus.

Color Carnival #34 / Cold Feet?

The solution for cold feet!

Weekend Reflections / Puddles From the Big Storm!

I took my little grandson and my dog for a walk this week whenever the rain "halted" for a little while.  The puddles around were full of reflections of the trees standing tall above them.
This tree has finally shed the last of its colorful fall leaves (in the middle of January).
The first photo shows that there were no rain drops...the second meant we had better get back home since my little grandson was more interested in running than carrying his umbrella.
We made it before we got too wet.
But, it was fun!
It reminded me of my younger day when getting soaked was what it was all about!

Weekend Reflections is hosted by James at Newtown Area Photo

Thursday Challenge / Winter

This man lives in my neighborhood.  He did his best to keep his pup dry on a rainy walk, but  I'm not sure it helped much!
The Theme is "Winter."

2Things Challenge / Theme is "Fire / Water"

My brother's koi pond has 2 gas fire pits, koi, and a colorful froggie to enjoy while sitting out at night.

The theme is fire/water

SkyWatch Friday & Looking at the Sky on Friday / Snow on Mt. Baldy

I took this photo at 7:30 a.m. this morning.  We had a few minutes without giant rain drops so I ventured out to our sidewalk to get a photo of the new snow on Mt. Baldy, southern California.  Much more rain is coming today and tomorrow...
