A View from Mt. Ngongotaha - Rotorua, New Zealand

 A view from the top!
A Skyline Gondola ride up to the top of Mt. Ngongotaha offers a view of Rotorua and the lake with
Mokoia Island visible in the distance.

Rotorua is New Zealand's sulfur rich, asthmatic attach thermal area.
It is the home of spurting geysers, steaming hot springs and exploding mud pools.

The Maori revered this place, naming one of the most spectacular springs Wai-O-Tapu (Sacred Waters).

We had breakfast at the top and are now on our way back down.
We will soon be off to the geothermal parts of this area.
Lake Rotorua is a very warm lake and a major part of the geothermal activity in the area.
