Camera Critters #75 / Tall Ship Festival, Dana Point Harbor, California

Squirrels were scampering around on the rock wall alongside Dana Point Harbor in southern California. My husband and I were walking around the harbor waiting for the "Tall Ship" parade to begin from the open ocean to the harbor prior to the festival this weekend.

The dog really didn't care about Tall Ships! This guy wanted to swim and chase fish in the harbor which is on the backside of the breakwater from the open ocean. His master was on the rocks watching his very happy beloved pet enjoy a nice long swim.

The harbor seal was swimming around these rocks near the break water where hundreds of people (with serious cameras and tripods) sat on the rocks waiting for the "Tall Ship" parade to commence.

I will be posting gorgeous tall ships on other memes over the next few days! Please visit!

You found a lot to photograph while waiting for the tall ships, the dog looks like a Chesapeake Bay retriever and they do love the water.
I'll have to remember to check out the tall ship photos when we get back from Yosemite and LA.

The squirrel shot is my favorite but then they are one of my favorite animals to watch!
All lovely images!
I saw a tall ship parade a few years ago in Norfolk, VA. Beautiful majestic ships. Look forward to seeing some of what you saw.

omygoodness! That last picture really just put a smile on my face! So many of the people snapping photographs all from different angles, different perspectives, with different cameras and lenses. That is what photography is all about for me - PERSPECTIVE! I just wish I knew where to find each person's pictures so I could see the full picture of that day - it must have been amazing!!! AND then, the man using his cell phone - that just cracks me up... modern days... imagine what a tall ship parade would have been like 50 years ago - would anyone have had BIG, fancy cameras and lenses, would they have been talking on a phone! :)

What a nice variety of animals in the 'wild.' Can't wait to come back to see the tall ships.
Happy week!

You captured some fantastic photos during the Tall Ship Festival. Sorry I am so late in getting here, the week was so hectic I barely got a post up.
