It is unbelievably hot and smokey at home! The southern California fires are raging out of control again. And, the fall season won't be here anytime soon.
We took a drive down to San Clemente Beach and found it was hot there too! But, under the pier was cool and breezy...perfect! And, "X" marks the spot!

Carolyn, you have a nice view from under the pier and throught your "X" spot. We have been to Huntington Beach, the furthest south for beaches.
A friend lived in Laguna-since moved-so we've been there. South at San Diego too but haven't connected the dots all the way between.

Lovely view of blues under the San Clemente pier. Here in Huntington Beach it's hot and smoky ... but then I'm not standing under the pier. Perhaps it's nicer down there by the water?

The picture is nice. But I am surprised to know that you have a fire season in California. I saw some fire photos both on the Internet and on TV here in Japan. I am just sorry that you have a fire season there very year!
