Photostory Friday, Scenic Sunday / San Castle Festival in Santa Barbara, California
My husband and I spent the day in Santa Barbara visiting friends and then we were off to East Beach to view the "sand castles and other sand art" displayed on the beach after the Sand Castle Festival earlier in the day. These photos show what we saw just before sunset last evening! There were many other displays, but, I couldn't post all of them...although, I wanted to!
You can see people walking on the beach enjoying all the creations and 2 college students guarding their castle from anyone interested in "messing it up!" They were also waiting, as long as necessary, for the tide to come in and fill the moat around their castle!
I really loved the rabbit!
A fog bank was creeping in off the ocean and made for some dramatic scenes!

When I lived in South Carolina I went to the sand art festival in Myrtle Beach and was amazed at the art created from the sand.
Thanks for visiting my site.
I love the light in the first 2 photos. Amazing sand art! Building a castle is my favorite thing at the beach... but mine aren't nearly so elaborate!
Oh Phooey! I wish I would have known about this. I'm only 40 miles down the coast and it would have been fun to see. I'm glad you posted all these great photos! :0)
Oh wow..made me achy for the beach! Some great work, amazing! Thanks for sharing! :)
I bet that was neat getting to see all those sand castles. Would have loved see the fog roll in lol. Great shots. =)
I love the first two evening scene photos. They are so beautiful.
