These "sky watch" photos were taken last Sunday evening. They show how our sky looked with a breezy sunset. The smoke from the so. California fires created one more dramatic sunset. I took these photos on Foothill Boulevard, or the "Historic Route 66." You can see the road sign in the 1st photo...Thankfully those sunsets are over now, as beautiful as they were.

The smoke does make for interesting skies but I hope for the sake of all the fires are done. I know from my years living in SoCal that Septermber and even October are still fire season.
We'll be in San Fernado Valley in two weeks and are hoping for clear skies.
Your photos are beautiful and your skies are stunning. I am also hopeful that those awful fires have been contained.
Lovely skies for sure ;--)
I never cease to be amazed that something as terrible as Wildfires can create such beauty.
Hugs and blessings,
Beautiful skies, Carolyn! :)
You are right about the drama in the skies. Incredible captures!
It's interesting that the fires create such pretty skies and not fair that such destruction can be followed by such beauty.
I love this post, and I especially like that fir tree in the last shot!
Fascinating series of sky photos! Especially love the landscape in the first photo!
Wow! The first one is beautiful!
I just read a daily photo tip today that said to use the atmosphere (smoke, clouds, fog) to your advantage. You sure did with these.
In particulat I liked the first photo. Stay safe
Perfect colors on the second is beautiful! I am glad our skies have cleared.
I am also interested in photographing the sky, in which we can enjoy various shapes of fall clouds and beautiful evening scencs. Your sky photo are very interesting.
Glad to hear that the fires are abating. We spent a great holiday in La Canada a few years ago, so the area has been very much in our thoughts.
