SkyWatch Friday / Smokey Sunrise From Yukaipa and Oak Glen Fires
I shot these photographs over a period of about 10 - 12 minutes beginning at 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday morning. This fire is to the east of us by about 40 miles. The color changed dramatically over the short amount of time. I shot to the northeast to the southeast to get as much variance as possible. I am pleased to say that these fires (Yukaipa and Oak Glen) are reaching 95% containment now.
I put sunset skies on "Scenic Sunday" which showed the smokey sunset to the west of us by about 30-40 miles. We have been surrounded!

Incredible scenes of the smoky skies near you. I'm glad to hear that the fires are almost contained.
You asked about my picture and where it was. I took it at my home looking out an upstairs window - as you saw there are a lot of trees around.
Glad to hear the fires are mostly under control. Terrific pictures; the third one is stunning.
The smoke makes a dramatic photo, but I'm sure glad you're soon out of danger!
Oh! The third one down is AMAZING!
Thank God the fires are getting under control... God bless the firefighters!
All the best, Maria
Stunning and dramatic photoes! But I just wish you will stay out of danger!
